Let me be the first to tell you that spring is officially here. And good thing, too! Maybe it was just me, but this winter felt extra-tough when it came to finding the desire to get out of bed and get dressed every single morning. When the weather is gray outside, I feel totally blah and my wardrobe suffers as a result. Luckily, Zara’s spring 2021 collection is in stores and online now and the floral dreamscape has completely pulled me out of my sartorial funk.
While I love throwing on a linen dress in calling it a day in the summer, springtime transitional dressing is my favorite thing—maybe ever. Yes, the weather is chilly in the morning and practically tropical by midday, but I don’t care! I feel so inspired when I get to think about my clothes in new and exciting ways as the seasons change. It also gives me a chance to incorporate a few new and trendy pieces into my stagnant winter wardrobe, many of which usually come from Zara.
Zara’s new collection for spring is packed with tons of floral patterns that are giving my basics a real run for their money. I mean, why would I wear a plain T-shirt when I can wear one of these pretty printed crop tops? No offense to Miranda Priestly, but I’d argue that these florals for spring really are groundbreaking, thanks to a slew of reinvented silhouettes from slinky slip dresses to ’90s-inspired denim shorts. Oh—and sweater vests, of course. This wouldn’t be a 2021 fashion trend story without at least one sleeveless sweater.
Read on to shop a few of my favorite pieces from the drop, or hit up your local Zara for some more floral goodness.

Printed Stretchy Dress
This Printed Stretchy Dress is the ultimate daily spring piece. It’s lightweight and would look great styled over a thin turtleneck on those tricky transitional weather days.
Embroidered Flower Knitwear Top
The humble sweater vest has been reinvented yet again this season—and this time it’s embroidered with cheery, colorful flowers! Style this grandma-chic top with a pair of leather pants for some added edge.
Floral Print Mini Skirt
I’m normally a fan of denim shorts in the springtime, but this sweet Floral Print Mini Skirt is already in my cart. Try wearing it with a white cropped T-shirt (or the matching blouse) for peak spring vibes.
Floral Print Cardigan
Taylor Swift was on to something when she titled one of her hit songs “Cardigan.” The vintage-inspired piece feels completely new this season—and I need this one in my closet ASAP.
ZW The ‘90s Shorts
Who needs a basic pair of shorts when you could wear a pair that’s covered in fun flowers? These ’90s-inspired shorts have a super high-rise and are wider in the leg, so expect to look like an off-duty model whenever you wear them.
Floral Print Jumpsuit
Whether you want to call this piece a jumpsuit or a romper is up to you—all I know is that it’s cute! The pattern is a bit more in-your-face than some of the other options on this list—but trust me, Gen Z maximalists will tell you that’s never a bad thing.
Embroidered Crocheted Top
Crocheted crop tops are basically like the springtime version of those chunky sweaters you wear all winter long. Pair this pick with the matching mini skirt for a full-on crochet look.
Printed Midi Skirt
If you love florals but don’t enjoy wearing a ton of color, consider this black-and-white midi skirt. Whether you want to style it with a long-sleeved turtleneck or a basic T-shirt, the options are nearly endless!
Floral Printed Top
This Floral Printed Top sort of looks like it’s tie-dyed, which means that it hits not one, but two spring 2021 trends at the same time! I’m picturing this blouse worn with a pair of white high-rise jeans.
Floral Print Dress
If you have a graduation or springtime wedding coming up, you need this Floral Print Dress! It’s one of those pieces that you can just throw on and look great in thanks to its flowy silhouette.
