People Are Accusing ‘Sports Illustrated’ of Photoshopping This Ashley Graham Photo

In February 2016, Ashley Graham made history as the first-ever plus-size model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Edition. The cover, which featured the 29-year-old looking fab in a blue-and-yellow bikini, was a groundbreaking moment in the body-positive movement, so you would understand the excitement of fans when Graham teased that she would be in Sports Illustrated again in an upcoming issue.

However, instead of cheers, Graham was met with questions when she posted a shot on Instagram from what appeared to be her upcoming Sports Illustrated photoshoot. Though Graham looked smokin’ AF with nothing but a shell necklace and cream bikini bottoms, fans couldn’t help but notice some weird distortion going on around her ass. The consensus: Sports Illustrated photoshopped Graham and totally took the body-positive movement two steps back.

Here’s what people said:

“Girl your booty is way to glam to be photoshopped. I’m a huge fan, and seeing they did that to you is really sad! Let them know this won’t be tolerated?”

“Wow… so sad to such a body positive person be okay with that amount of terrible photoshopping.,”

“PHOTOSHOP is horrible, can see her butt isn’t edited good enough. they made it all weird and flat.”

“sadly it is a little photoshopped there… which is surprising because Ashley usually gets really upset about that.”

“She does not need photoshop. But they used it.”

While there’s a possibility that Graham’s body distortion was actually due to good ol’ fashion lighting and angles, there is also a strong possibility that she was photoshopped. Hopefully this can all be resolved by the time the issue comes out because photoshopping is a big “no” in our book.

20 Rumors About Beyonce and Jay Z’s Twins that Made Us Roll Our Eyes

As the most talked-about celebrity on the planet, Beyonce is constantly battling crazy AF rumors. Add in an A-list rapper husband and newborn twins, and the 35-year-old has a recipe that grubby tabloids can’t get enough of. But while a couple of these rumors are somewhat believable (like the time Beyonce *allegedly* gave away Kim Kardashian‘s baby gifts), a majority of them are just downright bizarre.

Lingerie and Loungewear to Wear When It’s Too Hot to Go Outside

We know, we know: The best parts of summer are supposed to be outdoors—trips to the beach, picnics in the park, dawdling at a sidewalk table all afternoon with a bottle of rosé in front of you. But honestly, when it’s 100 degrees outside and so humid the air is practically dripping, sometimes all we want to do is stay indoors with the A/C on high and a few friends to keep us company.

MORE: The Best Lingerie to Wear With Every Summer Outfit

If that sounds like your idea of bliss, too, then you can probably appreciate the importance of a solid collection of loungewear. One of the less-discussed lessons Marie Kondo espoused in The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up is that bumming around in clothing that’s not explicitly made for doing so and actually maybe makes you feel kinda depressed (see: your stained once-favorite white T-shirt you can’t bring yourself to throw out) drastically reduces the quality of your leisure time. On the other hand, having a drawer of pretty, happy-making indoor clothing to wear on the days you don’t leave the house can make maximize your enjoyment. In the winter, this is easy enough—just cozy up in a fleece hoodie and some cashmere sweats—but in August, when all you want to wear is nothing at all? A little less obvious.

Below, see our take on the perfect indoor wardrobe for the summer months, from pretty lace bralette sets to comfy, do-nothing shorts—all perfectly acceptable to wear with close company.

15 Photos That Prove Sherbet is the Prettiest Hair Color of the Summer

We’re not sure where our sherbet-hair obsession began, really. It could have been because of Kaley Cuoco’s insanely cool, pastel-blue hair last month, or maybe the fact that anything dessert-related is granted our immediate affection. But we do know one thing for sure: We’re feeling hardcore feelings for what we’ve decided is the prettiest hair color of the summer.

Encycl-O!-pedia: A Comprehensive Guide to Every Type of Orgasm

Rich Tu

Rich Tu

Orgasms aren’t as easy to come by as you might think. Research suggests as many as one in three women struggle to come from sex, so don’t take it for granted if you’re one of them! However, we have good news if you’re not one of the ladies who gets off easily through intercourse: There are at least 10 different subcategories of orgasms (yep), which means it’s possible you just haven’t discovered your particular mode of pleasure yet. And, hey, if you have, there are plenty more to explore!

Some experts prefer to divide orgasms into three broad types—genitally focused (e.g. a clitorial orgasm that many of us have had through sex or masturbation); full-body (e.g. vaginal orgasms, which are more intense and aren’t just exclusive to feelings in your vaginal area, despite the name); and blended (more on those below). But we were intrigued enough to want to find out exactly what a more granular breakdown of orgasm types looks like.

Here are 10 different types of orgasms, according to experts.

STYLECASTER/Getty Images

Clitoral

A clitoral orgasm is—you guessed it—a direct response to stimulation of your clitoris. “This is the most common type of orgasm a woman can have, most likely because the clitoris is so accessible,” says sexologist Emily Morse, Ph.D. “Once you’ve found it, it’s fairly easy to simulate, whether by yourself or with a partner. In fact, many women stumble across it by accident, whether from a close encounter with a pool jet or their detachable shower head.”

On a more technical level, when the glans (or external part) of your clit is stimulated, it activates a nerve called the pudendal nerve system—one of many nerve systems in your vagina, says Kira Manser, MEd LCSW, executive director of The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health and consultant for digital women’s health clinic Maven. Another way to make it happen: shallow vaginal stimulation with a lot of friction along the vagina walls can arouse the roots of your clitoris (technically called the crura and bulb), causing an orgasm that is focused in your genital area, rather than your whole body.

G-Spot

G-spot orgasms—a.k.a. vaginal orgasms—are the second most common type of orgasm, says Morse, but they’re quite a bit more elusive than clitoral ones. “They can be more challenging for many women to achieve because of the G-spot’s location, which is located about two inches inside the vagina, on its upper wall,” she says. “Plus, it requires about 15 minutes of consistent, direct stimulation to make the magic happen.”

When G-spot orgasms happen, your pelvic and hypogastric nerve systems can trigger a fuller-body orgasm (rather than just focused in the genital area), and even vagaculation—a.k.a. squirting. Read more about the mysterious G-spot (including the controversy about whether it really exists) here.

Blended

A blended orgasm is just what it sounds like: a combination of both clitoral and G-spot stimulation.”Blended orgasms are the mind-blowing result of a combination of internal and external stimulation,” says Morse. How will you know them? Since double the number of nerve systems are being activated, you’ll experience double the arousal and pleasure. If your orgasm feels ultra-strong occasionally, it could be that you’re having a blended orgasm.

Cervical

Cervical orgasms are a result of direct stimulation of the cervix, which is located in the most interior part of your vagina. “A cervical orgasm can be achieved when the woman is already really aroused,” says Morse. “If she’s not aroused enough, it can be painful.” Morse says cervical orgasms can take time and practice, and can generally only happen with a dildo, vibrator, or penis, which are deep enough to actually reach your cervix.

“Only about 10 percent of people enjoy cervical stimulation,” adds Manser. “It can be achieved through very deep penetration, and activates three nerves, which tends to create a fuller-bodied or even sometimes a blended orgasm.”

Multiple

Multiple orgasms—having at least two orgasms during a single sex session—are what Morse calls the Holy Grail of pleasure. “Multiple Os happen from consistent, often indirect stimulation,” she says. “Many women struggle to have them due to sensitivity, but patience is key.” Want to up your odds of having more than one orgasm? Take a short break or catnap after your first climax before going again, says Morse. The good news is, some research by SKYN Condoms hints that multiple Os might be on the rise, since 44 percent of women reported having at least two orgasms during one session.

Nipplegasm

There are other body parts, circumstances, and factors that can up your orgasm potential or strength, says Morse—including your nipples. “Nipples are not often used to their full orgasmic potential,” she says. “Stimulating the nipples releases oxytocin, which causes sexual arousal in women, including vaginal muscle contractions and an increase in blood flow to the genitals.” So don’t neglect them!

Mindgasm

It’s possible to have an orgasm without a partner, a sex toy, or even your hands, says Morse. “You can have a ‘mindgasm’ by combining deep breathing techniques with meditative erotic thought and controlled Kegel contractions,” she says. “You can even take your Kegels to the next level with certain sex toys—like this pelvic strengthening device—that are designed to strengthen your pelvic floor and increase the intensity of your orgasms.”

Sleepgasm

That’s right—women can have wet dreams, too. “During REM, if your dream is hot enough, the blood flow to your vagina will increase and can lead to your very own nocturnal orgasm,” says Morse. “This is nothing new, and certainly isn’t uncommon. Sex research pioneer Dr. Alfred Kinsey found that almost 40 percent of women had experienced at least one wet dream—and that was back in the ’50s!” she adds.

Coregasm

Some women actually orgasm while they exercise, a type of orgasm nicknamed “coregasm.” “Most people who’ve experienced it say it’s not as intense as sexual orgasms,” says Dr. Carolyn DeLucia, a gynecologist at VSPOT Gyno Spa. “It usually happens after a strenuous cardio workout, which quickens the heart rate and releases endorphins, followed by a lower-abdominal workout, which increases blood flow to the vagina, sometimes causing mild orgasm.”

Exactly how it happens is still up for debate, says Morse, since many factors, such as anatomy, core strength, and exercise type, impact coregasm potential. “But the one exercise that was found to be most often associated with coregasms is a leg-raising and ab workout known as ‘Captain’s Chair,'” says Morse. “Worth a try!”

Music-gasm or Skin-gasm

This one comes last because, while it feels good, it definitely doesn’t feel as good as the others—at least not in that way. Frissons, a.k.a. a feeling of chills, goosebumps, or a tingling spine, can happen as a result of a sudden change in music or sound. While it can be felt as a physical wave of pleasure that may even make you shudder, it’s not usually a sexual experience. “There’s a reason why many people who have felt a ‘music-gasm’ or ‘skin orgasm’ often associate the two,” says Morse. “They trigger the same response in the brain. Both an amazing song and a sexual touch release dopamine, resulting in that feel-good sensation.”

Lady Gaga Dyed Her Hair Rainbow and It Looks Freaking Amazing

If Lady Gaga has proven anything to the beauty world, it’s that she can pull off any damn look she pleases. Like, if we showed up to a red carpet with bubble-gum pink hair and a massive back tattoo, our friends would probably be concerned for us. But Gaga’s constant risk-taking and fearless attitude for beauty has paid off with every major makeover.

Case in point: The singer just debuted the most in-your-face rainbow hair we’ve ever seen (totally different from the soft rainbow hue she wore at Coachella in April) and it looks incredible.

Over the weekend, Gaga posted an Instagram of her new look, which was paired with a red, sparkly lip and heavy black eyeliner (obviously, Gaga didn’t feel her bright-ass hair called for no-makeup makeup). She captioned the photo, “JOANNE WORLD TOUR,” and credited her talented glam squad. Frederic Aspiras, who works regularly with the singer, is responsible for the shades of fiery-red, peach, and blue-green against platinum, which Gaga will be wearing to kick off her fifth headlining tour on August 1.

Bright, unconventional hair colors have had a major moment this summer (remember Kaley Cuoco’s icy, sherbet makeover?), and Gaga’s rainbow hair appears to be proof that the trend isn’t going anywhere for the time being. And even though rainbow isn’t exactly a work-friendly color (unless you’re a straight-up boss, a la Gaga), we’re feeling weirdly tempted to try it ourselves before summer ends.

That is, unless a brand-spanking-new hair color pops up tomorrow morning and convinces us otherwise—looking at you, Bella Hadid and Lucy Hale.

Rihanna Shut Down Her Body-Shamers With a Single Instagram Comment

It should be well-known by now that Rihanna gives zero fucks for what you have to say about her body. But in case you didn’t know (we’re talking to you, Internet trolls), the 29-year-old made sure to shut down her body-shamers once and for all with a single Instagram comment that made us scream, “YASSSSS” for about 20 minutes straight.

The comment was on a fan’s Instagram video, which showed the singer shopping for junk food with her friends. In the video, Rihanna can be seen picking up four snacks within entering the store. When one of her friends tries to guilt her for it, another friend comes to Rihanna’s defense. Here’s how the exchange went.

“You just walked in the store and you already have four snacks!” one friend tells Rihanna.

“Stop judging her!” the other friend replies.

In the caption of the video, the fan drew attention to the fact that body-shamers were comparing Rihanna’s recent thicker body to Rob Kardashian‘s weight gain. She advised the body-shamers to take Rihanna’s friend’s advice, and mind their own business “Everybody who calling rob too fat @mdollas11 telling you what to do in this video K !! #mindyourown#eatallyouwant @badgalriri i got you like melissa 🙋🏻👑” the fan wrote.

Are Sample Sales Ever Really Worth It? We Investigate the Other Side of It All

Two months ago, I purchased two exquisite Oscar de la Renta dresses for a third of their respective original prices at the brand’s sample sale in New York City. In the process, I lost my favorite bra.

While mercilessly searching for that treasured Gap undergarment, I bumped into three soon-to-be-brides who happened to be walking around the small space (overcrowded with both hideously ugly and awards-show worthy gowns) while holding their own future wedding dresses. Their gowns were also heavily discounted, compared to their cost if purchased at a brick-and-mortar Oscar de la Renta store (or Saks, or Bergdorf Goodman, or just about any other shop that offers customers full length mirrors and all the time and space they might need while in a fitting room).

MORE: 31 Cool Summer Outfit Ideas to Copy This Month

Given the outing’s goal—either to save a boatload of money on something you definitely need, or to spend not-as-much on something you definitely don’t—and our collective success that day, I began to think: Did Mr. de la Renta price his offerings knowing they’d likely be purchased on sale? Does anybody buy anything at full cost anymore? Are sample sales even deals, or are they masked over-priced affairs? Most importantly: Are the psychological and financial implications (and the loss of my precious bra) of attending a sample sale even worth the effort?

“It really depends on what type of shopper you are,” says Laura DiGiovanna, the marketing director at 260 Sample Sale, a third party company that provides brands with the space, security, maintenance, marketing and overall organization needed to set up a sample sale, when asked if sample sales are ultimately more rewarding than traditional shopping experiences. “You have to weigh the pros and cons: For the shoppers that want that love and attention, that catering, we do that to the best of our abilities […] but there are like 700, 800 people down there.”

Home to between 10 to 20 recorded sample sales on an average month, New York is the undisputed capital of buying high-end fashion pieces on a budget. This city-specific quality has a dual source: On the one hand, New Yorkers love the thrill of the hunt and the score of a deal (who doesn’t enjoy winning?). Simultaneously, the city “was [always] the epicenter of where [dress] samples would pile up and need to be liquidated,” explains Assaf Azani, vice president of 260 Sample Sale. Logistically speaking, the various “leftover” pieces are already in the city—why not try and make a last-minute profit off at least some of them?

sample sales worth it article Are Sample Sales Ever Really Worth It? We Investigate the Other Side of It All

Photo: Getty Images

“Sample sales have changed so much over the years,” says an experienced sample sale associate who leads two major sales each yea. She’s agreed to speak on condition of anonymity given her extensive contacts in the retail industry. “I remember when […] it was a true ‘sample’ sale. Meaning: A rack of samples and damaged items with markings that could definitely not be sold in a store.” Given the success of the sales, the events began shifting in quality in order to attract an even greater variety of customers that could potentially liquidate an even bigger roster of pieces that would likely not be purchased otherwise. As brands began recognizing a buyer’s greater psychological disposition to purchase an item when confronted with the word “sale”—especially in a do-or-die situation—the sample sale shifted in nature.

“I think all brands mark up their prices with the intention of putting it on sale,” says the associate. “I think now these brands are taking advantage and sell one rack of samples at true sample prices and the rest is just leftover stock at department store prices or online sale price. [You go to the sample sale and see] brand new merchandise in plastic and on hangers as if in a stockroom of a department store.” The sample sale is still a sale, but not just of samples.

“No, not at all,” says Steven Dann, owner of two eponymous high-luxury boutiques on Long Island, when asked whether he believes that brands whose products he sells price their items knowing that they will eventually be sold at a discount during a sale. He also runs sample sales at the end of each season, trying to organize them when “there are only one of each item left,” clearly preserving the aura of exclusivity that has always defined high-end (and high-price) products.

“We always try to get the most competitive pricing,” says Azani while discussing the process involved in pricing each piece. “In fact, when most clients come with a very aggressive price, we’re not ones to dissuade them. If anything, those are the sales that are the most memorable, those are the sales that people go back to the office with two huge shopping bags and start talking to their co-workers about what they found for $25.” Yet, unsurprisingly, the steepness of the sale price doesn’t deter shoppers from asking for even more discounts. DiGiovanna mentions quite a bit of haggling during the events, “but we have a strict policy: The price that our client sets is the price we sell it for.” All leftover merchandise is eventually returned to the client on the final day of the sale.

Emilia, one of the brides who found her dress at the de la Renta sale, echoes Azani’s feeling towards the everlasting memory of a really good sale. “I went to a wedding salon and tried on a few dresses but the prices for the dresses that I liked and I would want were really high,” she remembers. “My mom had told me that a sample sale was coming up so I went into [the wedding salon] knowing that I would end up buying the dress at a sale.” The gown she purchased at the Oscar de la Renta sample sale came with a 90 percent-off price tag.

MORE: 13 Boho Wedding Dresses We’re Head Over Heels For

Sure, brands may price their offerings knowing that they will eventually host a sample sale: “The department stores have been undercutting full price retail [too],” says Azani. And it’s common for consumers to wait until coveted merchandise goes on sale at stores like J.Crew, Gap, or Aritzia—because it will. (All of those store declined to comment on this story.) But, from a customer’s perspective, what would the other option be? Not own the piece at all? “There’s a barrier to entry for a lot of brands,” comments Azani when discussing what he believes to be the ultimate appeal of a sale. “I think a lot of customers may know of a brand but never actually bothered walking into the store or touching the product of thought of buying the product because it is out of their [price] range. So, the minute you bring it to the sample sale, it’s peaking everybody’s interest.”

Azani’s logic is, well, logical: You will never be able to afford that full-price Balenciaga bag—but once the sample sale hits, whether the price of the bag is inflated or not is besides the point. What counts is that the bag is now within your budget.

Dann begs to differ. “In my opinion, your typical sample sale is the worst thing that has happened to fashion,” he says over email. “Don’t get me wrong, I know the people who can’t afford retail are thrilled for a sample sale, but these have hurt the business as a whole.” As way of explanation, the boutique owner mentions the status and exclusivity involved in being able to afford an expensive item. “The full price client now thinks twice about spending $6,000 on a Nancy Gonzalez bag at Bergdorf Goodman,” he says. “Because she knows that her friend bought the same bag she bought last season, two months later for 60 percent off.”

Given the laws of supply and demand, Dann’s argument follows logic: The cheaper the product, the greater the number of potential buyers. The greater the number of potential buyers, the lower the value of the object. The dramatic result? Poof, no more high-end fashion industry. Whether the outcome is ultimately bad or good, whether the happiness of the averagely salaried American trumps that of the rich American (who wants to be the only one to ever be able to afford that $6,000 Nancy Gonzalez bag) is a matter of opinion and perspective. But one thing is for sure: Putting that Oscar de la Renta gown on knowing that I paid a margin of what Mr. de la Renta originally asked me to pay, albeit bra-less, feels oh-so-sweet… considering I just spent $600 on a pair of Gucci loafers—at a discount!

The matching body art, which was done at Tattoo Mania in Los Angeles, appear to be tiny spoons.

Paris Hilton’s 11 Most Iconic Style Moments

I have a confession to make: I was once so obsessed with Paris Hilton that when I was choosing a Confirmation name during my freshman year of high school, I tried to take Saint Paris. Thankfully (seriously–THANK GOD), my priest saw exactly what I was doing and put the kibosh on that faster than Drake went from 0 to 100. (In other words, *real quick*.) Suffice it to say I spent the better part of the early aughts trying to replicate Paris’ looks (even though I wasn’t allowed out of the house in most of them) which included a lot of hip-hugging jeans, Juicy track suits, rhinestones, trucker hats, and butterfly clips. I was also prone to repeatedly declaring “that’s hot” whether something was hot or not.  And had I had access to a pink pickup truck, I would have, without a doubt, been driving that to high school every day.

Bella Thorne Shut Down a Twitter Troll Who Threatened Her with Violence

Like the rest of the celebrity side of Twitter, Bella Thorne has facd her fair share of haters. Whether it’s about her dating life or her shaving routine, trolls on Twitter have always found a way to criticize the 19-year-old for something she’s supposedly doing wrong. And while we’re sure the actress brushes off a majority of the nasty comments, there are some things that are just not OK and need to be called out.

Earlier today, the “Famous in Love” star did just that when a Twitter troll threatened her violence—specifically, to kick her in the teeth. “I would pay a decent amount of money to kick @bellathorne right in the teeth,” the user, who goes by the handle RaeAllDayy, tweeted.

Not having it, the former Disney Channel star couldn’t just stay quiet. She obviously had to respond, and if we know anything about Thorne, it’s that she always has the most expert clap backs. (Remember when she gave no fucks for people who slut-shamed Selena Gomez?) And of course, Thorne wasn’t going to fight fire with fire. Instead, she did what she does best: use sarcasm to call out someone’s rude AF behavior.

“Supporting violence !!! Good for you,” she shot back, alongside two disappointed-face emojis.

How Medalion Rahimi Overcame Bullying to Become Shondaland’s Next Muse

Medalion Rahimi should be used to the royal treatment. After all, she’s played princesses on two Shonda Rhimes shows. But, like her characters’ roads to the throne, Rahimi—who currently stars in her second princess role on Rhimes’s latest series, “Still Star-Crossed”—didn’t face an easy path to success.

As a first-generation Iranian American, Rahimi, 25, was bullied for her textured brown hair and light-red freckles, which are natural Iranian traits passed down from her mother and grandmother. And though they’ve become Rahimi’s most complimented features (just take a look at her Instagram), they were also the source of her darkest insecurities growing up. “It’s made me stronger as a person,” she says. “I feel like if people can just wait out adolescence, it does get so much better.”

Raised by two Iranian immigrants who fled Iran in the ’70s to escape a dictatorship, Rahimi spent her childhood crammed into a one-bedroom apartment in the San Fernando Valley with her parents and older brother. While her parents steadily worked their way up—her dad as a dentist; her mom as an attorney—Rahimi’s struggles continued in school.

“I had buck teeth, frizzy hair, freckles, and a retainer,” Rahimi says. “People called me Hermione sometimes, which I loved because I thought she was brave, but they meant it in sort of a mean way.” Along with calling her “metal mouth,” Rahimi’s classmates would make fun of her hair and say her freckles were a sign of disease. “It’s part of the reason why I’m so quiet,” she says. “It’s something I’ve learned to embrace, but it was definitely hard.”

As a result of the bullying, Rahimi withdrew into herself and made efforts to change her appearance. To hide her hair texture, she braided her hair every day before graduating to a straightener. She even tried shaving parts of her head and dabbled in keratin treatment. When she started using makeup, she did her best to mask her freckles.

Rahimi slowly started regaining her confidence at age 12, when she starred as Cha-Cha DiGregorio in a seventh-grade production of Grease—a role she auditioned for on a whim that sparked her passion for acting. “It was a place where I could have a voice,” Rahimi says. “I was such a quiet kid that performing became a time when people would listen to me.”

After a push from a high school drama teacher, Rahimi went on to study theatre at the University of California, Los Angeles before finding an agent and nabbing small parts in the indie world. But she still felt plagued by the insecurities she faced growing up. “I would go to auditions with a full face of makeup and straightened hair, thinking that that’s what people were looking for,” she says.

It wasn’t until about four years ago, when Rahimi was 21 and dating a man who was raised with a different view of beauty, that her own perspective started to shift. “He grew up in Paris and women there don’t really wear makeup. They are a little bit naturale,” says Rahimi. “He told me to just embrace my natural hair.”

As a result, Rahimi grew out her natural hair, which was cut short and slightly damaged from the keratin, and toned down her makeup drastically. “I started getting so many nice compliments from women who had incredible hair who were like, ‘I want your hair,’” she says. “You’re telling me you want my hair? It was crazy. I noticed as soon as I stopped doing that was when I really started to book roles, too.”

Soon after, Rahimi scored her big break on Rhimes’s comedy crime-drama show, “The Catch,” playing Princess Zara Al-Salim, a headstrong modern-day Arabian princess. Though the part only lasted three episodes, Rahimi caught Rhimes’s eye, who cast her as a series regular in “Still Star-Crossed,” a multi-ethnic take on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. In it, Rahimi stars as Princess Isabella, one of five leads of color.

Though the show has faced backlash for straying from the original Romeo and Juliet, Rahimi isn’t concerned about the criticism. “It’s historical fiction, not a historical drama. It doesn’t need to make sense,” she says. “That’s what TV and film is all about—to just put you into a world. [The show] looks more like the world we live in. You don’t go somewhere and just see all one type of person anymore.”

She appreciates that Rhimes doesn’t play into Hollywood white-washing, something Rahimi’s accustomed to after hearing time and again that casting directors “decided to go a different direction”—a code, she explained, that usually means choosing the blonde, white girl.

“I always loved that Shonda’s shows are so colorful and multiracial,” says Rahimi. “I’ve seen a white woman with brown hair and brown eyes and maybe a bit of a tan play Hispanic or Middle Eastern and put on an accent. I really think [casting directors] should give those opportunities to someone who comes from that culture because they carry it inside of them.”

Racial diversity isn’t the only thing Rahimi praises “Still Star-Crossed” for. After regularly playing “ditzy party girls” and “women manufactured by men for men,” she says it’s refreshing to play a complicated, hyper-intelligent princess who, in some ways, is more fit to rule than her brother—but is forced to sit on the sidelines because she’s a woman. Rahimi sees plenty of parallels between the sexism in the show and America in 2017.

“The U.S. could’ve had a woman in power after our last election,” she says. “Maybe [Hillary Clinton] wasn’t the best option, but she was better than the current option. There was a lot of prejudice because she was a woman. That relates fully to the show. Even though it’s set in the 1700s, it’s still prevalent today and definitely an issue.”

As the daughter of Iranian immigrants, Rahimi feels particularly fired-up about the Trump Administration, especially after the recent travel ban against six Muslim-majority countries, including Iran. “The U.S. was built on immigrants and [the ban] is insane to me,” Rahimi says. “I think a lot of people are upset, even the people whose beliefs were in line with the Republican party and the conservatives. This is more than that; it’s about humanity.”

Rahimi is using her voice as an Iranian-American actress to combat the bill by making phone calls, sending letters, and attending town hall meetings. On a less political level, Rahimi–who dreams of diversifying the beauty industry away from “European Anglo-American-looking girls”—is passionate about reshaping the way all young girls, not just those of Middle Eastern descent, see themselves while growing up.

“I’m happy with who I am. I think a princess has to be confident,” Rahimi says. “It’s so important to just be who you are. It’s good to embrace our differences. We shouldn’t all look the same. This world would be so boring.”

Exploding Bath and Body Works Candle Severely Burns Woman

Honestly, we can’t read the words Bath & Body Works without thinking about our favorite middle school scents, Cucumber Melon and Freesia. Whether it was in super-fruity body mist-form, or the weirdly enticing holiday-scented collections, the store played a monumental role in our love (see: obsession) for all things beauty. But this morning, our sweet, romanticized memories of the brand were straight-up rocked when we found out that a Texas woman was severely burnt by an exploding candle.

Yep, in a terrifying string of events, Ashley Brawley was hospitalized with first and second-degree burns after attempting to blow out her Bath & Body Works vanilla-scented candle. The candle, which had been burning for three hours and 20 minutes (under the manufacturer’s four-hour recommended use), began to burn uncontrollably. Brawley told NBC DFW, “I blew on it about three or four times and the last time I blew it, it just went all up in my face… I immediately started screaming.”

Brawley’s husband Cody proceeded to cover the candle in water, unknowingly agitating the flames. After removing the burning candle outdoors with oven mitts, he sprayed it with a hose, which then caused the candle to explode into pieces. While the exact cause of the incident is still being investigated, it appears that there was no user error on Brawley’s part. Brawley, who is now recovering from burns on her forehead, cheeks, nose, and lips, said, “I’ll never use a candle again. Ever.”

According to The Cut, Bath & Body works has issued the following statement: “We are very sorry that this happened and are taking this situation extremely seriously. The safety of our customers is our number-one priority, and we are actively working to learn more details from the customer.” Welp, as we wait for more information, we know that we’ll be staying the hell away from candles (or anything vanilla-scented, for that matter).

Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza Just Showed Up to a Premiere in the Exact Same Dress

Elizabeth Olsen‘s sisters may be Mary-Kate and Ashley, but it seems like the 28-year-old has her own twin on her hands—Aubrey Plaza. While Plaza obviously isn’t Olsen’s biological twin, the two do share an eerily similar fashion sense—judging from the identical outfits they wore to their film’s movie premiere last night.

The actresses made fans do a double-take when they stepped onto the red carpet in the exact same frock: a black, high-neck mini dress with circular embellishments and cuffed sleeves. But unlike the accidental matching we’ve seen on the bodies of celebs like Gigi Hadid and Lily Collins, Olsen and Plaza’s twinning was fully intentional.

See, the two star in the upcoming comedy, “Ingrid Goes West,” a film about a girl who becomes obsessed with a social media star so she moves to Los Angeles to be her BFF. Like the method actors they are, the stars naturally found the movie as a fitting occasion to let art mimic reality.

But if you look closer at the pics, you’ll notice that the two weren’t as exactly identical as we thought. Though they also matched in black court shoes, Plaza sported gold embellishments on her dress, while Olsen’s were silver. (Close enough, right?)

Also, as the younger sister of two mega-famous twins, Olsen likely grew tired of the act after the red carpet. As seen from pictures later in the night, the Marvel star changed out of the dress into a more subdued all-black ensemble, leaving Plaza to fly solo. It’s alright, Aubrey. We’ll match with you.
