Kendall Jenner Wore an Ankle Purse, and We Have Some Questions

With the resurgence of the fanny pack, the rebirth of the tropical print, and the rise of the kitschy earringwe’ve come to believe anything is possible in fashion these days. Not convinced? Check out Kendall Jenner’s ankle micro-purse OOTD, and then get back to us.

Yesterday, the 22-year-old model posted a video on her Instagram story showing her ankle adorned with a $645 mini-bag. Needless to say, we have some—OK, a lot of—questions. Namely, why? And, how much could that micro-bag possibly hold? (Jenner answered the latter question in the video, writing, “It only fits joy.”)

OK, so the bag holds joy—and obviously brings delight to whoever wears it. But what else could you possibly stuff inside that teeny-tiny bag (that, dare we say, kind of resembles one of those house arrest ankle bracelets)? Three Oreos and a compact brush? Two of Jenner’s 12 credit cards, plus a tube of lipstick? One receipt from CVS and nothing else because you know how damn long CVS receipts can get?

Then, after you figure out what to put into the bag, you’re tasked with a new set of equally perplexing questions. How the hell do you style this thing? Do you wear it over socks? With another handbag? Do you worry about it clashing with your clothes? Would you wrap it around a bootie? Could you wear two at once for maximum storage?

Suffice it to say, the styling options are endless. You could wear it around your wrist like a new kind of watch, or secure it to the strap of your purse. Don’t say the KarJenners never gave us anything, because for the next week we’re going to be thinking about innovative ways to store all the minuscule things we own.

Oh, and in case you wanted a micro-bag of your own: This accessory made its way down Chanel runways in 2007, and it’s currently sold out everywhere. According to Seventeen, The Real Real recently re-sold the bag, so while it’s gone for now, you can cross your fingers for a re-sell sometime soon.
