Liam Payne Left a Flirty Comment on Kourtney Kardashian’s Thirst Trap

Liam Payne and Kourtney Kardashian both weathered two of 2018’s most devastating breakups. In July, Payne ended his three-year relationship with his girlfriend and baby mama, Cheryl, while Kourtney broke up with her longtime boyfriend, Younes Bendjima, in August. Now, that the two are single, fans are starting to ship them together, especially after Payne’s recent thirst comment on Kourtney’s Instagram.

On Thursday, Kourtney took to her Instagram to post a few behind-the-scenes shots from her GQ Mexico photoshoot. The pictures featured the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star in black, lacy lingerie, with most of her body showing. Of course, given the couple’s age difference (Payne is 25, while Kourtney is 39), it didn’t take long for fans to ship them together—especially since both of them just got out of relationships with significant age differences. Cheryl was 10 years older than Payne, while Bendjima was 14 years younger than Kourtney. “The next Cheryl,” one fan commented. Another added, “Of course you have a thing for older women.”

Will Kourtney and Payne actually be a thing? We’re not sure, but from the looks of it, the former One Direction member likes what he sees, and we totally approve of this couple. Only time will tell if this Instagram comment will lead to something more.

6 Queer Women and Femmes on the Iconic Outfit That Defined Their Sexuality

Many of us can point to an iconic fashion moment that defined us. Maybe it was the skirt we wore every day in middle school. Maybe it was the pair of flared jeans with the butterfly embroidery. Maybe it was our signature red lipstick.

Many of us can also point to iconic fashion moments that made us feel things. Sexual things. Queer sexual things. In some cases, it just takes one outfit to make you realize you’re not as straight as you thought.

For some people, this moment comes when they’re watching someone wear something—a character in a TV show pulling on a denim jacket, or a celebrity walking the red carpet in a sleek black dress. It becomes obvious that they’re not just into the idea of looking like said character or celeb—they’re into them.

My “moment” came at the hands of Missy Peregrym in Stick It, a movie about a badass, rebellious skater girl who’s also an extremely talented gymnast. Honestly, it’s not a very good movie. But I was obsessed with it for years, and I made sure to watch it every time it popped up on TV.

A couples still stand out to me. There’s Missy in the beginning, dressed “like a boy,” wearing baggy cargo shorts and an oversized T-shirt. She has a helmet on, and she’s with two other guys—so it’s obvious that the audience is supposed to think she’s a boy until she pulls off her helmet and suddenly isn’t. Then, there’s the scene where Missy slides out of an ice bath in slow motion, wearing a sports bra and underwear.

These are such simple items of clothing: cargo shorts, a T-shirt, a sports bra, underwear. It wasn’t until years later—when I realized I had a thing for athletic brunette women—that I realized, huh, Missy Peregrym’s character was an athletic brunette. 

I’d always liked “too cool for school” skater boys with complicated pasts and messy family histories, but it took me several years to realize I also liked their female equivalent.

In the spirit of the sexuality-defining outfit, I chatted with six queer women and femmes to find out what iconic pop culture outfit kicked their sexuality into gear.

Cameron, 25

“The Color Purple is a classic, but it’s also such a great example of black female sexuality,” Cameron says. “Shug is fluid AF, but when she’s with Celine (and lets her try on the dress), it’s this moment of tenderness and sapphic romanticism that two dark-skinned black women are rarely, if ever, afforded [the chance] to feel.” she adds, “It helped to expand my idea of what queerness looked like.”

Another iconic moment? “Atonement was also great, because Keira’s dress is sensual and sultry and long,” Cameron says. “And the sex scene that follows with her love interest in the library is whew.”

Selah, 28,

“Eliza Dushku in Bring It On was life-changing. I was 10 when the movie came out, and I just remember sitting up straighter when Eliza Dushku’s Missy walked into the gym for her cheerleading audition,” Selah says. “She had on, like, cargo pants with her keys on a chain…I’d never seen a girl look like her and dress like her before—tomboyish while still somehow feminine.”

Selah notes that while Dushku’s character got progressively feminine as the movie progressed, she still managed to “retain her edge and crassness—flipping her brother the bird while donning her cheer uniform.”

“[Then, there was] Jesse Bradford,” Selah adds, referring to Cliff, the character Bradford plays in Bring It On. “There was something so quintessential ’90s teenage boy about Cliff’s band tees and the pins on his guitar strap as he rolled around playing guitar…He was like a rebel to the preppy guys and the jocks without being a contrary asshole.”

Selah says that, at the time, she was “paying way more attention to boy,” so naturally, she was rooting for Cliff in the film. “But I kept waiting for Missy to come back on screen,” she adds.

Quita, 28

“I would have to say Cleo, [a character portrayed by Queen Latifah in the movie Set It Off, definitely made me question my sexuality as a young person,” Quita says. “The way she dressed in baggy shirts and pants with cornrows completely broke open my understanding of what women, especially black women, were supposed to look like—and I was very intrigued.”

“I would also have to say that Shane from The L Word—in the Black vest with no shirt underneath—completely affirmed my queer questions,” Quita adds.

Rockie, 28

“Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy comes to mind,” Rockie says. “Poison Ivy emerging full gala spandex glam from a pink monkey suit and then enchanting everyone with burlesque super powers set a very specific type for me. I have many types, but fluorescent red hair and good puns have a special place in my heart.”

Allison

“[My bi card] was deadass cemented…watching Lauren Patten play a non-binary teen in Jagged Little Pill.”

Alaina, 25

“Mine is 100 percent Luna Lovegood [from Harry Potter],” Alaina says. “Luna’s look definitely made me feel things—it was a very quirky, witchy vibe, even for a movie all about witches.” Alaina adds that seeing a woman onscreen—particularly one who was so confident about her ideas and ability to be creative—was “really powerful.”

“I think by the time the fifth book came out I was starting to realize I was queer, and I definitely had by the time the movie was out,” Alaina says. “From her earrings to her glasses to her long blonde hair, [Luna] was just everything to me. Girls who are a little out-of-the-box tend to get picked on, and I liked that Luna…was very beloved even if some of the other characters found her weird.”

Some queer women—before we realize we’re queer—seek to emulate the looks of the women who catch our eye. Maybe we just really wish we could look like that. So we buy the clothes we think will make us look more like them, and put off that aura we can’t quite define.

Other see these looks and immediately realize they’re head over heels—and not just for the clothes. And for others, it’s really a mix: You want to wear the outfit of the woman whose style just inspired you in this huge way, and you also want to date her. After all, the idea that all queer female couples come in a distinct femme/butch pairing is false, so who’s to say you can’t have the same aesthetic and, as an added bonus, borrow clothes?

Fashion is funny in the way that clothes can become so symbolic and so tied to who we are as people. You might realize it in the moment, or you might realize it years later, that you weren’t just admiring their outfit; you were experiencing their outfit, how it made you feel, and what it taught you about yourself.

My Boyfriend & I Take The Same Hair Supplement, Because Romance

Not so many moons ago, I was a single woman in my early twenties, with lots of hair and even more dates. Before heading off to meet an especially intriguing Bumble match, I’d hit up Drybar for a blowout. I savored this pre-date protocol of becoming the glossiest, most polished version of myself. Now that I’m in my early thirties and a relationship, the ritual has been replaced by a decidedly less glamorous one (depending on who you ask): My boyfriend and I both take Nutrafol, a hair loss treatment for women and men. It’s a long way down to the bottom, folks.

I began shedding in the winter of 2016, and not the baggage from six years of dating in NYC (that I carry with me to this day). My hair thinned at an alarming rate, and my once-undetectable part became a prominent focal point. Thanks to a career that involves testing new beauty formulas and writing about them, the hair loss market became my proverbial oyster. I tried every topical product aimed at boosting hair growth, gummy vitamins and even hair supplements that other women swore by. None achieved a noticeable impact, but to be fair, I wasn’t exactly compliant when the instructions called for applying foam to my scalp daily.

I’ve taken Nutrafol for nearly two years now, and while I didn’t regrow the resplendent head of hair I had when I was dating amok, I sprouted a fresh crop of baby hairs. My boyfriend brought up his follicle frustrations first, as he should. Even though he spoke with a matter-of-fact air, I could tell that he wasn’t looking forward to gradually going bald. In a 2012 interview with MTV’s How I Made It, the Glee star talked about how she was continually told to “lose a little weight” by casting directors, and why she finally stopped listening to those wanted her to be a “size two.” “Going to the auditions and hearing the casting director say, ‘You need to lose a little weight,’ I didn’t understand why people couldn’t accept me for who I was,” Riley said. “I’m not gonna conform and hurt myself and do something crazy to be a size 2.”

After her breakout role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Sister of the Traveling Pants 2, Tamblyn was told by her agent that she needed to lose weight to become a huge star. “I think at that point I was 128 pounds and I’m 5-7. I remember my agent saying to me and she was a woman, ‘You have a real choice here. You can either be Nicole Kidman or you can be a character actress,’” Tamblyn told The New York Times in 2018.

Tamblyn didn’t listen to her agent but that didn’t mean what her agent said didn’t hurt. She explained that she had been hearing the same advice for her whole life, which made it that much more painful. “And at that time, I was like 21 years old, so if you look at that and use that as an example and imagine that for over two decades, forms of that from when you’re a child to all the way up, it does something to you,” she said.

Amy Schumer

Even as the star and writer of her 2015 film Trainwreck, Schumer still told to lose weight. She talked about the experience on a 2016 episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, where she recalled being told she would “hurt people’s eyes” if she didn’t slim down. “The only change was that it was explained to me before I did that movie that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood, if you’re on the screen it will hurt people’s eyes,” Schumer said.

Even when Benson was a size 2, she was still told she was “too fat” for certain roles. In a 2016 interview with Health, the Pretty Little Liars star talked about the pressure for actresses to be rail-thin and why she thinks “all sizes are healthy.”

“It’s come up a few times in the last few years, like, ‘You’re too fat for this.’ And I’m just sitting here like, ‘Wait, what? Do you want a skeleton?'” she said. “But I feel good. I don’t want to lose 20 pounds, because I don’t need to. You feel pressure to be skinny to get acting work? I get told all the time to lose weight. I got that a month ago. It’s just weird. With my stuff recently, it’s been, ‘You have to be skin and bones or you’re not getting it.’ There was a point where it was getting to where a size 2 was great. I’m a size 2, but I think that a size 4 is healthy. I think that all of these sizes are healthy.”

For 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada, Blunt said she was told to lose weight to look “edge-of-ill” thin. Blunt talked about the experience in a 2010 interview with The Los Angeles Times, in which she said she was told to become thinner to play a image-conscious fashion assistant.

“I was definitely encouraged to lose weight—not because I was overweight but because I was playing a character who was edge-of-ill thin. She literally doesn’t eat. I couldn’t turn up with love handles, but it wasn’t like doughnuts were snatched out of my hand,” Blunt said.

At Elle’s Women in Hollywood event in 2017, Lawrence talked about how she was told to lose 15 pounds in two weeks for a film. She even said that a female producer made her stand next to women who were thinner than her “as inspiration for my diet.” “During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me. We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates,” Lawrence said. “After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.”

When Lawrence complained to another producer, she was met with sexual harassment, which made her feel “trapped.” “He said he didn’t know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was ‘perfectly fuckable,’” Lawrence said.

Jennifer Lopez

Lopez is known for her curvy body. But when she was starting out as an actor, not everyone was a fan. In a 2018 interview with InStyle, Lopez said that she was often told to “lose a few pounds.” However, she also said the criticism never affected her. “They didn’t bother me at all. But I got a lot of flak for it from people in the industry. They’d say, ‘You should lose a few pounds,’ or ‘You should do this or do that.’ It finally got to the point that I was like, ‘This is who I am. I’m shaped like this,’ ” Lopez said. “Everybody I grew up with looked like that, and they were all beautiful to me. I didn’t see anything wrong with it. I still don’t!”

When Beckinsale was told by director Michael Bay to lose weight for 2001’s Pearl Harbor, she didn’t understand it, given that she was playing a 1940s nurse.

“I think he was baffled by me because my boobs weren’t bigger than my head and I wasn’t blonde,” she said on The Graham Norton Show in 2016. “I’d just had my daughter and had lost weight but was told that if I got the part I’d have to work out and I just didn’t understand why a 1940s nurse would do that.”

As a teen actor on That ’70s Show, Prepon has heard comments about her weight for her whole career. In a 2016 interview with The Hollywood Social Lounge, the actor recalled being told to lose “30 pounds” for a role in her early career.

“So I would have this pressure of being on camera and I had the best job in the world and I’m literally living my dream and I was stressed out every day about my weigh,” she said. “I would literally leave crying. At a young age I was told I had to lose 30 pounds, and this is like a pressure in our industry.”

In a 2016 interview with TV Week, Robbie said she was told to lose weight for her 2016 film, The Legend of Tarzan. However, she fought back, refusing to lose weight after questioning why a researcher in the 1940s would need to look so thin. “It’s the 19th century [in the film] – if she’s got a bit of weight on her, it’s probably a good thing,” she said. “I’m not going to look thin just for the sake of it.”

In a 2018 interview with StyleCaster, Holt talked about how she’s been asked to both “lose” and “gain” weight for roles, which she said created a complex in her head and heart about what her body type should be. “I’ve struggled with figuring out exactly what my body type is and going back and forth between feeling too skinny or too thick or too this or too that,” Holt said. “Being a gymnast, I had a lot of issues with feeling too broad in my shoulders or too thick in my thighs. It’s heartbreaking that we have to feel this way, especially as women in a world where we already feel put down by so many others.”

She continued, “I’ve been told by many producers, ‘You need to lose X amount of pounds if you’re going to be a part of this project’ or ‘You need to gain this amount of pounds if you want to be a part of this project.’ That really messes, not just your headspace, but your heart.”

Turner is another actor who has been told to lose weight for a role, even if it makes no sense for the character. She talked about it in a 2017 interview with Porter. “There are often times when I have done jobs and they’ve told me that I have to lose weight, even when it has nothing to do with the character,” she said. “It is so fucked up.”

Nicki Minaj Shades Cardi By Casting Bartenders Who Want to Sue Her in Her Music Video

Just when we thought that Ariana Grande’s cameos in “Thank U, Next” were the music-video cameos of 2018, Nicki Minaj came through with “Good Form.” The 35-year-old dropped the music video for her next single “Good Form” (Feat. Lil wayne) on Thursday, and for those who missed it, it included two very important cameos.

The music video, which shows Minaj driving and twerking with backup dancers, also includes two women, Baddie Gi and Jade. Those names don’t sound familiar? Well, maybe this will refresh your memory. Per HollywoodLife, Baddie Gi and Jade are two strip-club bartenders who threatened to sue Cardi B for allegedly ordering an attack against them this year. The women claim that Cardi ordered the attack because she believed that Jade slept with her husband, Offset.

Here’s a rundown of what happened: In October, Cardi turned herself in for her role in a bar fight and was charged with misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment. The bar fight, which happened in August, involved Cardi showing up at a strip club that Offset was performing at. The bartenders claimed that Cardi then ordered her entourage to throw bottles and chairs at them, leaving them with injuries that needed medical attention, according to TMZ. Jade also claimed that Cardi had been threatening her for months, with both women planning on suing the “Bodak Yellow” rapper.

This brings us to Minaj. As everyone and their moms know, Cardi and Minaj experienced a scuffle at New York Fashion Week in September after Cardi reportedly threw a shoe at the “Anaconda” rapper, believing that she liked a negative comment about her parenting on social media, which Minaj has denied.
