Celebrity Instagram Aesthetics We Can All Take Inspiration From

Many celebrities post outstanding Instagrams of their stunning vacations, outfits and beauty looks, but they don’t always follow the same theme. Some stars, such as Kim Kardashian and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, are passionate about coordinating their ’Grams to fit a central theme, pattern or aesthetic that makes their feeds look cohesive. Whether it’s for branding purposes or for pure eye-candy pleasure, here are 10 celebrities who have the best Insta-feed themes you might not have realized but should definitely take note of.

Kim Kardashian

The hailed “Selfie Queen” coordinates her themes with her fashion for that week or her next KKW Beauty launch. Regardless, her feed seamlessly ties in colors from the outfits she wears, cars she drives or products she promotes. Kim transitioned her electric-neon theme—highlighting her neon-green hair and her matching Lamborghini from this summer—to a pink cherry-blossom theme as soon as her KKW Beauty Classic Blossom collection launched.

Khloé Kardashian

After giving birth to her daughter, True, Khloé coordinated a dreamy-pink filter with her feed that adds a rainbow effect to most of her photos. Her neon bike shorts and hot-pink coords are super saturated in her posts, but all come together with a few sunsets and flower bouquets here and there. Of course, her daughter seems to match her feed almost every time.

Vanessa Hudgens

Once October hit, Hudgens took her feed super seriously, posting almost nothing but all-black-and-white photos. As the host of Hocus Pocus’s 25th anniversary special this year, Hudgens posted various selfies, promos and videos in black-and-white to stick with her colorless theme. Regardless of the lack of color, Hudgens’s dedication to Halloween has been noted.

Ariana Grande

Ariana’s Insta-feed is a curation of behind-the-scenes selfies and candids that are mainly colorless, aside from the occasional dusty periwinkle posts that tie in with her theme. Here, Grande’s theme was accentuated with purple lighting and writing while promoting her latest album, Sweetener. Many of the singer’s posts are also blurry, giving a vintage Polaroid effect we love.

Shay Mitchell

Mitchell is almost always on the go and her feed highlights her travels extremely well. She uses autumnal tones to go with the fall season and has created a feed that looks like a travel magazine. Not only does she show off her beautiful designer outfits but she also takes to her ’Gram to flaunt the lavish hotel rooms and food she experiences along the way. Cranberry and beige are the top two colors Mitchell has tied into her recent posts.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Huntington-Whiteley doesn’t necessarily have a go-to filter or color but she does use a pattern of “threes” while posting. The former Victoria’s Secret angel posts three photos at a time, whether it’s selfies or candids, and we’re not mad at it. Her posts extend her one look per event into a three-page spread. The model is not the only star that does this, and though it can seem repetitive scrolling through so many similar posts, it comes together when browsing her feed.

Jaden Smith

Like Hungtinton-Whiteley, Smith also follows the pattern of threes but does so from a promotional standpoint. His theme creates a message or bigger image—almost like a puzzle. Scrolling through each single picture won’t really make as much sense until you go to his homepage and see the artwork as a whole.

Lady Gaga

The trilogy of Instagrams must be a favorite for celebrities, because Lady Gaga also uses this theme to promote her work, including her latest movie, A Star Is Born. She also featured her latest spread in Elle’s November issue using the same rule.

Candice Swanepoel

Swanepoel’s theme was all things green while she was pregnant. The Victoria’s Secret Angel posted a series of vacation shots alongside pictures of the beach and her family. The posts worked well with her usual green trend. The model is also known to accentuate her organic-like theme with a few grainy pictures here and there.

Maddie Ziegler

The Dance Moms star uses something we haven’t seen before to coordinate her posts: light. And it’s not just any regular light either. The dancer uses refracted light or shadows to highlight her face or eyes. Though she’s only started doing this for a few posts, it’s definitely becoming a pattern on her page. Aside from lighting, Ziegler also follows a beige theme.

The 11 Best Pink Shampoos and Conditioners to Make Rose Gold Hair Color Last

Picture this: you’re brunette with long, thick hair. You’ve decided to undergo the long process of dyeing the bottom half of your hair pastel pink. You learn, after your first expensive hair appointment, that you can only bleach your hair, and then you have to wait eight-to-twelve weeks to bleach again and then add the color.

Instead of listening, you only wait eight weeks because you’re impatient and want the pink hair everyone seems to have. You book a hair appointment at your usual salon and get consulted on what you want. After five hours in the chair, you leave with bright pink hair. But less than a month later, it fades fast from bright to the pastel shade you wanted to just bleached. You’re left confused and with a dent in your bank account. This is what led to my quest for pink hair-specific shampoos and conditioners.

Thankfully, Urban Outfitters was the first place I discovered a duo that would keep my color in check or dye it pink, though I wish my stylist had told me to grab a bottle or two after my second dye appointment.

“Pinks tend to fade quickly because most of those colors are just color deposits. But on average, the color will start fading after 2 weeks. But you can maintain the color with the help of color-depositing shampoos and conditioners,” says Stephanie Brown, Master Hair Colorist at the Eddie Arthur Salon in New York City.

She also adds that the color-depositing conditioners tend to be very moisturizing, but some color can be hard to get out. So if you’re worried about that happening, mix a little dollop of regular shampoo or conditioner into the product.

With that being said, ahead are products that’ll making your rose gold transition last. What’s even better is a lot of also come in different colors, so if you have purple hair and want to maintain that color, there should be something for you too.

The Dress Code at This Year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Fittings? Leather, Leather and More Leather

The 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is fast-approaching. And while details about the event are still limited, we’ve gotten our first glimpse at the upcoming runway show—in the form of fittings, of course.

This week, models have turned out in spades to try on their Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show looks. Martha Hunt, Jasmine Tookes, Elsa Hosk, Sara Sampaio, Cindy Bruna, Lais Ribeiro, Kelly Gale, Jourdana Philips, Lameka Fox, Kelsey Meritt, Isilda Moreira and Grace Elizabeth were all spotted outside the Victoria’s Secret building on Tuesday or Wednesday.

And Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill even traipsed around New York City wearing white, feathery wings (layered over otherwise-casual looks—not the lingerie they’ll be wearing in the show).

The most astounding part? Most of the models sported some variation of the same outfit: an all-black-everything ensemble (or mostly-black-everything ensemble) complete with a leather piece or two. Though the dress code was almost certainly unofficial, the coordinated looks work incredibly well together—practically serving as a fall fashion lookbook.

Ahead, the sleekest looks from the fittings. (Each of these could serve as an expert lesson in styling leather pieces—in case you find yourself in need of a little inspo.)

Why Zendaya Doesn’t Dress Up Anymore for Halloween

Halloween 2018 saw countless iconic celebrity costumes, from Kourtney Kardashian as Ariana Grande to Rita Ora as Post Malone to Joe Jonas as Sansa Stark. But there was one star who was noticeably missing: Zendaya.

So what gives? Does the 22-year-old hate Halloween? Did she simply run out of time? Well, to clear the air, the Spider-Man: Homecoming star took to Twitter herself to explain why she didn’t dress up this year and why fans likely won’t see her dressing up again in the future. In a tweet from Wednesday night, Zendaya explained that she’s a huge fan of Halloween but simply doesn’t like dressing up because of how often she wears costumes as an actor.

“You see, the misconception is that I don’t like Halloween…I love Halloween, I just like watching OTHER people dress up. I dress up for a living…I’m good lol,” she tweeted.

However, that doesn’t mean that Zendaya has never dressed up for Halloween. In 2013, she dressed up as ’00s singer, Aaliyah. In the years following, she’s slayed as a zombie queen, Cleopatra and a pregnant handmaid from The Handmaid’s Tale. She’s dressed up before, but don’t expect her to go all out in the future.

Of course, many actors, such as Nina Dobrev (who dressed up as a literal baby star from A Star Is Born) and Bella Thorne (who dressed up as the Bride of Chucky), still dress up for Halloween, so fans weren’t exactly buying Zendaya’s excuse. That’s when Zendaya fessed up her next reason: laziness. “Admit you’re lazy and go,” a fan tweeted at her. “That too, Zendaya responded.

Hey, at least she’s honest.

Just in: Your November 2018 Horoscope

We’ll experience the November new moon in Scorpio (November 7, 11:02 a.m. EST,) through a misty lens, as the luminaries align with dreamy Neptune, god of the sea. With Jupiter ready to leave the still water sign, Scorpio, we’re presented with a profound moment to pause, take stock, review and gain closure on the events of 2018. The water element aligns us with the emotional realms, but we can also leverage earthy practicality (thanks to Pluto in Capricorn), affirming what the future holds.

On the 8th, lucky Jupiter moves into Sagittarius (the archer’s sign) for a 13-month cycle, but with Mercury in retrograde from Saturday, November 17, we’re not ready to fully engage the stick shift and commit to a gear change! Note, however, in the last week of the month, the sun will highlight the overarching sentiments of the year ahead, with a spotlight on the centaur’s arrows.

The full moon peaks awkwardly on November 23 (12:39 a.m. EST)—conversations could feel extra challenging on this bristling day.

Kim Kardashian Was Once Named ‘Worst Body of the Week’ Because of Her Cellulite

Kim Kardashian wants people to know that everyone has stretch marks and cellulite—even her. The 38-year-old made this clear with the campaign for her latest KKW Fragrances, KKW II and KKW III, which featured unretouched pictures of women of all shapes, shades and sizes—cellulite and all.

In an interview with Refinery29, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star spoke about why showing women in their natural beauty was important to her, despite her history with edited Instagrams and photoshoots, and how her decision for an unretouched photoshoot was inspired by experience with paparazzi and magazines who body-shame her for her cellulite.

“When you do get shot by a paparazzi and you do have cellulite, which you know has definitely happened to me before, it’ll be on the cover of magazines like, ‘Worst Body Of The Week’ and, ‘Look how awful she looks,'” she said. “It’s always so hard on your soul when you see things like that and I see that happen to so many other women and I never thought that was fair. And so to show it in an artistic way just felt beautiful and right and I really wanted to show people that you can be beautiful no matter if you have stretch marks or cellulite.”

The campaign, which features both models and non-models, was also inspired by the E! personality’s childhood, where she would often read magazines and not see her curvy body represented in the tall, thin women in the pages. “Just to be confident within your own skin—I think I’ve always put forth that message,” she said.

“In the magazines I would look at, everyone was super tall and skinny and I didn’t feel like I had something that represented my curvier body shape growing up. And so I just wanted to show a campaign that supports women of all different shapes to feel confident within themselves.”

As for how the campaign has affected the mom of three’s own view of her body, she said it hasn’t changed much, as she was already comfortable in her skin. Still, she’s happy to represent other figures and help women feel confident in their bodies, if they weren’t already.

“I’ve been working out a lot and being more confident, so it really hasn’t changed the way that I view my own body. I’ve always been really comfortable in my own skin and I think, to me, it was refreshing to see other people who were as well,” she said. “To see the images, it really looks like art and these beautiful statues as these beautiful bodies.”
