6 New Intimate Skin Care Products to Keep You Feeling Great Down There

Let’s be honest: Sweating is rarely a good look (or feeling). It’s stinky, uncomfortable and seems to occur at the most inopportune times (other than when you’re working out, obviously). Sure, we get that sweating is normal, and proof that our bodies are doing what they’re supposed to do. But when we start to sweat down there—in our vaginas and the surrounding area—sometimes that natural moisture can end up being a bit too much.

Thankfully, a new wave of intimate skin care products is set to change the way we care for our nether regions. Gone are the days of douching (please tell us you quit this years ago) and brands are now focusing on minimizing the sweat down there to help us feel fresh 24/7. Sounds almost too good to be true, but before we thank the beauty gods for looking out for us, there are a few things you should know.

MORE: WTF Is a Vagina Lift and Does Any Woman Actually Need One?

First off, the same sweat glands that exist in the underarm area (apocrine sweat glands) also live in your vaginal area, but some special products can throw off your natural—and delicate—PH balance, ultimately causing significant discomfort. Clearly, those are ones you’ll want to avoid.

Sounds like a complicated science class, but to actually understand the pH levels in the intimate area, you can divide the female anatomy into two parts, says Dr. Gunvor Ekman Ordeberg, professor of Gynecology at Karolinska Institute. The external vulva area (outer labia, inner labia, vaginal opening) has a pH level of 5, which is the same pH as the rest of our skin, and inside the vagina itself, there’s a pH level of 3.5. This is a very acidic environment, making it difficult for bacteria to survive.

So what’s a girl to do when so many cool new intimate skin care items are on the rise, but you’re not sure which ones could improve your vaginal health or aggravate things?

MORE: 20 Sexy Pairs of Undies That Keep You Healthy Down There

“Make sure to use products with a pH level of 5 and that they are hypoallergenic,” says Ordeberg. “Do not use normal soaps or shower gels for the intimate area since they contain high pH levels. Alternatively, do not use a low pH level either—this is too acidic for the external parts. It;s also important to avoid products with alcohol because that dries out the sensitive skin in this area.”

Check out our list of new intimate skin care lines that will help you feel clean, comfortable, and fresh down there. And, of course, if any product you use causes irritation, cut that one from your roster immediately.

10 Super-Moisturizing Lipsticks That Won’t Dry You Out

We love lipstick. It’s more of an obsession, really. We love the way it wakes up our face. We love how it can take our look from day to night in literally, like, 10 seconds. We love being able to add a pop of color on an otherwise dreary day. We love the way it feels. OK, that last one, not so much.

MORE: The 10 Best Lip Glosses to Try Immediately

There’s a million things to love about a great lipstick, but the tight, flaky, dry feel it usually delivers sucks. Unless you happen to find an ultra-moisturizing brand that delivers both color and hydration, that is. It’s kinda our own little version of heaven.

The bonus: The best moisturizing lipsticks we’ve come across run the gamut from $6 to $60 and everywhere in between, so you don’t have to worry about sacrificing your quality of life in favor of the quality of your lipstick—talk about a win-win.

Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss Are Actually Still ‘Good Friends’

After months of rumors that Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss—Hollywood’s formerly unbreakable BFFs—supposedly had a falling-out, we finally know what went down. Despite the talk, Kloss’s growing friendship with Swift’s nemesis’s sister, Kendall Jenner, and an apparent diss in the singer’s new “Look What You Made Me Do” music video, Swift and Kloss are reportedly still going strong.

“Taylor and Karlie are still very much good friends,” a source told Us Weekly. Per the magazine’s source, Swift and Kloss’s respect for each other has never wavered. Kloss admires Swift’s revamped music career, and Swift reveres Kloss’s new project, Kode With Klossy, a camp designed to teach young girls how to code technology.

Feuding rumors between Kloss and Swift reached an all-time high in June when the Victoria’s Secret model took a selfie with Jenner, the sister of Swift’s assumed public enemy number-one, Kim Kardashian, at Paris Fashion Week.

The talk was only fueled when Swift dropped her new music video on Sunday, which included a scene in which she wore a shirt with the names of her supposed squad members. Among the names were Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Selena Gomez, and the sisters of HAIM. Left out was Kloss, prompting fans to assume that the supermodel was exiled from the Grammy winner’s squad.

Though, in tabloid talk, “sources” can mean anything, we’re sure we’ll know exactly what went down with the Swift-Kloss saga when the singer drops her sixth album in November. Until then, let the speculation continue.

Kendall Jenner Rejected the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for This Job

Kendall Jenner is hanging up her angel wings for good. The 21-year-old model is apparently off to bigger and better things, according to sources for TMZ who say that she rejected the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to walk for Italian luxury lingerie brand, La Perla.

Per TMZ’s sources, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star signed a non-compete clause with La Perla when she agreed to be its face. The clause prevents Jenner from collaborating with other lingerie companies, like Victoria’s Secret.

The older Jenner sister, who walked for VS in 2015 and 2016, was reportedly so confident in her decision to back La Perla that she didn’t even audition for the show, unlike her model besties Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Hailey Baldwin.

TMZ’s report comes a day after the E! personality announced on Instagram that she would be the global ambassador for La Perla. “write to me 🌹” she captioned a shot of her wearing La Perla lingerie while lounging in a bathtub shrouded by flowers.

21 Random Questions for Hide the Pain Harold

If you frequently peruse the Internet (hi!) and, you know, have a pulse, chances are you’ve seen “Hide the Pain Harold” plastered across your Instagram feed. And if you don’t know his name, you definitely know his face. Harold, whose real name is Arató but goes by Andy (are you still following?), and I only met a few weeks ago when I emailed him, but I feel like his spirit has lived deep within the chasms of my soul my entire life. But while Harold’s story is one of rising above great pain while simultaneously playing video games, drinking a hot beverage, or having his back examined by a medical professional, Andy’s story is one of unexpected triumph.

A retired engineer, Andy’s career as a stock image model began after a photographer scouted his photo on a community site in his native Hungary. All the rest, he says, happened by chance–a likely story in the case of Internet stardom. But does he like being a meme sensation? “It took a long time to accept,” Andy tells StyleCaster. “It’s an ambivalent feeling–yes and no at the same time. Yes, because people love me, and no, because it’s not my merit. I was not prepared; it happened to me unwillingly.”

People Are Shaming Amber Rose for Injecting Botox into Her Face

Amber Rose has no qualms with going under the knife, judging from a recent botox video and an Instagram inquiring about breast reductions last month. A vocal group of Internet trolls, however, feel differently.

On Sunday, the 33-year-old model posted a video of her receiving botox injections in her face. The procedure was standard with a doctor injecting two shots of botulinum toxin (a minor muscle paralyzer, commonly known as botox) into her upper cheeks, before dabbing the spot with a cotton ball. Despite the wince on her face, Rose assured her followers that the routine looked a lot more painful than reality.

“I swear it looks more painful than it actually is ☺️ Lol thank you @drjasondiamond for fitting me in today!” Rose wrote in the caption. “Ladies and gentlemen if you need some rejuvenation, Botox, fillers etc call Dr Diamond’s office and tell them Amber sent you 🙏🏽❤️😍

But despite the heart-eyes and happy-face emojis, Rose’s video was flooded with with hundreds of comments lambasting her for receiving the common cosmetics surgery. (For the record, more than 4.5 million people in the U.S. received botox in 2016, according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.)

MORE: Why Amber Rose Is Considering Breast Reduction Surgery

Given that Rose is 33, a majority of the comments shamed her for “ruining” her face by undergoing the procedure so young. Other comments accused Rose of being a hypocrite, considering her frequent touting of natural beauty. Rose was also slammed for promoting plastic surgery to young girls who may be following her. Here are a few of the comments she received:

“In the long run I pray it don’t backfire on your pretty face and body…Be smart. Be for real.”

“Putting yourself through all that B.S. just to be fake. LOL. Age gracefully!”

“Thought she was on her way to teaching young girls to love the natural skin they have…Shame”

“You are so young. Why are you doing this at your age!”

“Why???…You don’t even have wrinkles yet! And when you do, who cares! Beauty comes from within! Js”

“You’re not an old hag, Rose. Don’t do it.”

Though a huge chunk of Rose’s followers disapproved of the procedure, the model did have some supporters, who argued that early botox is preventative. “You people are dumb. If you get Botox while you are young, it will help you from getting wrinkles,” one person wrote. “Instead of being old and already having wrinkles and trying to get rid of them, which would be even harder. That’s why girls in their early 20s get botox.”

Regardless of your thoughts on botox or plastic surgery, Rose’s body is her own and she likely knows better for it than anonymous comment on the Internet.

The Unconventional Product Zendaya Uses for Natural-Looking Coverage

There’s no question that Zendaya‘s natural makeup game is one of the best in the biz. In fact, the 20-year-old actress’s natural look is often so good that it frequently has us wondering if her flawless skin is the work of a miracle foundation or godly genetics.

Like the real AF celebrity she is, the Disney Channel star shut down that speculation in a post on her website, where she revealed that her “natural” look is actually a result of “caked” on makeup . (Gotta love the girl’s honesty.)

“Every time I hit the red carpet it doesn’t look like I’m wearing a lot of makeup, but trust and believe honey, it’s caked!” she wrote.

Gigi Hadid Disables Instagram Comments Amid Accusations of Racism

After speculation that she might’ve been bumped from the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Gigi Hadid announced on Monday that she would be returning to the runway for the brand’s lingerie pageant in Shanghai, China. However, for some fans, who accused the 22-year-old model of racism, the announcement wasn’t happy at all.

In February, the supermodel came under fire after her younger sister, Bella Hadid, posted a video of her slanting her eyes to mimic a Buddha statue. The video, which has since been taken down, was immediately slammed by critics who accused Hadid of racism toward Asian people.

Given that China is in Asia, critics were not happy when Hadid announced in an Instagram video that she would be heading to the country for Victoria’s Secret’s annual runway show. After her announcement, Hadid’s social media mentions were flooded with people telling her that she is not welcome in China.

The pushback was apparently so intense that it prompted Hadid to disable the comments on the Instagram post announcing her return to Victoria’s Secret. Hadid nor Victoria’s Secret have commented on the controversy. However, if Hadid wants a smooth ride to the show’s November 28 air date, she’s going to have prove to fans one way or another that she’s learned her lesson.

Your Everything Guide to Scandinavian Furniture

Scandinavian interiors have set the standard for interior design, and there’s a reason: The look is modern, simple, functional, and achievable.

“With today’s busy lifestyle, most people are looking to create a calming retreat in their home but don’t want to compromise on design,” says James Tabb, interior designer at Laurel & Wolf. “Scandinavian furniture has historically been light and airy, offering clean lines with a focus on ergonomics. This, combined with light wood tones and a neutral color palette, help to create a space that is high-style as well as extraordinarily comfortable.”

Shaokao and Niki Cheng, owners of BoConcept New York, a high-end retailer of sleek, modern, Danish-designed furniture, echo Tabb’s sentiment. “Scandinavian furniture is designed with style in mind, but also for a purpose, keeping in mind the function of the object,” they say. “It’s about elegant minimalism, un-messy design, pared down with reasonable curves that emphasize quality workmanship.” Who wouldn’t want that?

What People Really Think About Your Sex Number, According to Science

Talking about your sexual past can be awkward. You probably don’t want to think about the person you’re dating sleeping with other people, but it’s critical to ask the important questions: When were you last tested? Do you have condoms? How do you like to be touched? Other, less practical, subjects can also come up—one of them being the number of people you’ve slept with.

Anyone remember that famous scene from Friends when Monica finds out Richard has only slept with two women? “You make it sounds like a whole fleet,” he says after inquiring about her number. “Well, it is definitely less than a fleet!” she says, before darting into her bedroom and closing the door.

Ever wondered what people think about your number? Science has some interesting answers. Dr. Ed surveyed over 1,000 Europeans and Americans of various ages about their sexual histories and feelings about sexual promiscuity (or lack thereof). Researchers asked respondents about past partners, opinions about “appropriate” numbers of sex partners, and whether they would lie to a partner about their own “number.”

For some, myself included, finding out that you can be judged for your number of sexual partners is a bit jarring. When it comes to the confusing world of sex, you (apparently) don’t want to be a total novice, but you don’t want to be slutty either. It’s a Goldilocks situation, guys.

MORE: 5 Ways to Make Bad Sex Better

29 percent of those surveyed report that you never have to disclose your sexual history to a partner. As we move more towards a more sex-positive culture, the number of people you’ve slept with will (hopefully) matter less and instead, the only thing of consequence will be if you have sex safely. However, 54 percent of Americans think you should disclose your sexual history before sleeping together. 39 percent of US citizens reported that sexual past doesn’t matter and one in four reported that they’d never been asked how many people they’d slept with. Snaps for the sexually liberated!

Of those who participated in the study, men and women in their 20s both agree that three sexual partners is the “sweet spot.” In fact, all age groups netted out at three to five sexual partners in their proverbial green zones. You can have as many or as few sexual partners as you want, but if you’re going to stick to three, you better make sure you have a LOT of sex with those three people (after all, practice makes perfect).

According to the survey, men in their 20s are unsurprisingly slut shame-y compared to their female counterparts.. Results found that anything over seven sexual partners would be considered too high on average for dudes. In fact, women were significantly more likely to keep their numbers to themselves for fear of sexual shaming.

MORE: How to Tell a New Partner About an STD

Speaking of the ladyfolk, women in their 20s were much more forgiving, reporting that ten or more would be “high.” Both sexes evened out in their 30s, where both groups agreed that 10+ partners would be considered a lot. Super awkward for the sluts among us! I couldn’t count my number of sexual partners if my entire life depended on it. Apparently, I’m in the minority as only 2.6% of women report not knowing their number. I have yet to have a complaint, I might add.

Are people still lying about the number of people they’ve slept with? Is this still a thing in 2017? According to the data, 23% of women undersell their number by ten partners or more, whereas 22% of men undersell their number. While both genders reported being honest about their sexual histories, 1 in 5 people reported that they’d lie about their number of sexual partners to make it seem smaller.

Skai Jackson May Be a Meme, But She’s No Joke

At 15, Skai Jackson has accomplished a career even the most seasoned actors still dream of. She’s starred in not one but two smash Disney Channel shows. She’s defended a One Direction member against racist trolling on Twitter. And she’s perhaps the only person who’s inspired a viral meme and a Marvel superhero in the same year.

Still, despite her soaring career, Jackson is no stranger to the pitfalls of fame, having faced online bullies, racial typecasting, and the public assumptions that come with being a Disney Channel star. But if you ask Jackson how she’s dealing with Hollywood’s pressures, she’ll likely say she’s doing alright. She’s just a girl living her dream—what’s to complain about?

“My mom would tell me, ‘Well, if you really want to act, never give up and keep pushing no matter what,’” Jackson says. “And that’s exactly what I did.”

skai jackson shoot2342 Skai Jackson May Be a Meme, But Shes No Joke

Photo: Antwon Maxwell

Born in Harlem, New York, Jackson began working at 9 months old after a relative suggested that her mom send out her headshots to audition her as a baby model. Jackson was immediately signed to an agency, quickly earning campaigns with big brands like Marriott Hotels.

However, at age 4, Jackson knew she wanted to be more than just mannequin after switching on the television to see Raven-Symoné on Disney Channel. “I was just like, ‘That’s something I really want to do one day,’” Jackson says. “I felt like Raven-Symoné was a young, black actor, and if she could do it, then I could do it too.”

My mom would tell me, ‘Never give up and keep pushing no matter what.’ And that’s exactly what I did.

With her mom’s blessing, Jackson started auditioning for acting roles. However, her early years weren’t easy. After catching wind of her acting aspirations, Jackson’s classmates, who already bullied her for her height (Jackson, who is currently 5-feet-tall, was shorter than most kids in her class), began tormenting her about her career: “They told me, ‘You can’t act. You’re not going to make it. You’re not going to be famous. You’re not going to sing and do all the things that you want to do in life,’” Jackson says. “I let them know you can say these things to me, but it’s not hurting me. Words don’t hurt me.”

Bullying was just one obstacle Jackson faced in her early career. Growing up with a lack of positive representation for black women on screen, Jackson was adamant that she could help change the situation, even after noticing a dearth of acting roles that called specifically for women and girls of color.

“There were very few young black girls on TV making a positive impact,” Jackson says. “Even growing up, there weren’t a lot of roles for young black girls.”

skai jackson shoot2410 Skai Jackson May Be a Meme, But Shes No Joke

Photo: Antwon Maxwell

At 8, Jackson got a whole lot closer to her dream, when she was cast as Zuri Ross, the precocious daughter of two New York socialites in Disney Channel’s “Jessie.” The show prompted Jackson to leave public school and move cross-country with her mom to Los Angeles. It also catapulted Jackson into the public eye, something she was initially uncomfortable with.

“I wasn’t used to people stopping me for pictures wherever I went, especially when I was 9,” Jackson says. “I was like, ‘This is really weird. Just because I’m on a TV show and I act, people want my picture?’”

Growing up, there weren’t a lot of roles for young black girls.

Jackson’s newfound fame came with a slew of other pressures, including the expectation that her public image would sour as she got older. “A lot of people think Disney stars will fall off and become something crazy,” Jackson says. “I don’t think it has anything to do with Disney. It’s about who you surround yourself with. I surround myself with people who only want the best for me and are positive to my image.”

One anxiety Jackson wasn’t immune to was the fear of being pigeonholed into a certain type of character as a result of her wholesome Disney role. So when Disney approached her for a “Jessie” spin-off called “Bunk’d,” Jackson nearly turned it down. “I was like, ‘I don’t know if I want to continue with Disney,’” Jackson says. “Nothing against them. I love them. They got me my first TV show. But I was like, “Am I getting too old for this?’”

skai jackson bunkd Skai Jackson May Be a Meme, But Shes No Joke

After discussing it with her mom and manager, Jackson agreed to sign on—and she’s glad she did. A few years later, while guest-starring on Zendaya’s show, “K.C. Undercover,” Jackson finally ran into Symoné. “I remember Raven-Symoné was on the episode and I was like, ‘Oh. My. Gosh,’” Jackson says. “I told her, ‘You have been my role model since I was 4. I’ve always looked up to you.’ She was so sweet.”

Still, at her current age, when most teenagers are thinking about college, Jackson has other aspirations. After years on a sitcom, she’d love to do a drama. College is also on the table, though Jackson is leaning toward a fashion major over theater. It makes sense, considering she’s dropping her own collection with Macy’s in October.

It’s really important to embrace natural beauty and it’s okay if you have natural hair.

In April 2016, Jackson reached a whole new level of fame when a picture of her waiting for a morning talk show in New York went viral. The photo, taken by her hairstylist, shows her jet-lagged, sitting on suede chair with her hands and legs crossed. Jackson posted it to Twitter, and two days later, a meme, titled “Petty Skai Jackson,” was born.

“Some of my friends were sending it to me and I was like, ‘Where are you guys getting this picture from?’” Jackson says. “Meme accounts started posting it and I was just like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I didn’t take any offense. I thought they were really funny and I even re-posted some on Twitter and Instagram.”

A month later, Jackson found herself back in the Internet’s good graces when she publicly defended former One Direction member Zayn Malik after rapper Azealia Banks began spewing racist and homophobic remarks toward him. When Banks turned the tables and came at her, Jackson took the high road—but still called her out, tweeting: “I had a career before Disney and I’m sure I will after! And I know I won’t turn out like you bitter and miserable! Fix ur life.”

https://twitter.com/skaijackson/status/730212101394993153 https://twitter.com/skaijackson/status/730218051589701632

“Azealia was putting out racial slurs and that wasn’t right,” Jackson says. “We’re all people in the business. We all have things going on with our lives. So we shouldn’t be giving each other hate. I felt the need to say something because it wasn’t OK. But honestly, my position is better than hers. People just look at her as a troll.”

Since entering the spotlight, Jackson has dealt with her share of cyberbulling, getting hate comments on everything from her acting to her hair, a sore subject considering Jackson’s insecurities about her natural hair growing up.

“With my natural hair, it takes so long to do, so for my friends who have straight hair, I was like, Oh my gosh. It’s so much easier.’ It took me so long just to get it into a ponytail because I have such big thick hair,” Jackson says. “I used to think of natural hair and be like, ‘Oh my gosh. It is a mess. How am I going to handle this?’ But I learned to love it.”

You don’t have to look like everyone on Instagram. Everyone’s their own self.

But despite the hate and micro-aggressions from hairstylists who don’t know how to work with her hair, Jackson is now a huge proponent of natural beauty, especially among black women.

“Now, girls on social media are like, ‘Oh my gosh. You make me want to wear my natural hair more and I used to have a perm in my hair but now I don’t because of you,’” Jackson says. “It’s really important to embrace natural beauty and it’s okay if you have natural hair.”

This self-confidence is likely what inspired Marvel artist, Mike Deodato Jr., to model the franchise’s newest Iron Man iteration—Riri Williams, a 15-year-old M.I.T. student—after Jackson herself. She considers the move a huge stride for diversity in media.

“I was very honored someone would actually do that. I still can’t believe it,” Jackson says. “It’s really important because she’s a strong, young black girl, and for her to have such a big role, that’s amazing. It’s amazing how things have changed over the last two or three years and hopefully, one day, I can play Riri Williams. That would be awesome.”

You can’t listen to what anyone has to say. All you need to do is remember you’re beautiful no matter what.

Still, Jackson doesn’t need the Iron Man suit to be seen as a superhero. From tackling racist trolls on Twitter to teaching girls to embrace their natural hair, Jackson is already making an impact, one meme at a time.

“I never would’ve thought I’d be considered a role model, so it’s definitely something I embrace. Putting positivity out and having something to stand for, I think that’s the best way to be a role model,” Jackson says. “People think you need to be a certain way to be beautiful and that’s not what it’s about. You don’t have to look like everyone on Instagram. Everyone’s their own self. There have been times when people send me hate and I think, ‘Am I pretty? Am I this or that?’ But you can’t listen to what anyone has to say. All you need to do is remember you’re beautiful no matter what.”

Ivanka Trump Just Missed a Chance to Help Women Close the Wage Gap

Yesterday, the Trump administration announced that it will block an Obama-era rule that could have helped cut down on gender and racial wage gaps. The policy, which was enacted last year and would have gone into effect in early 2018, would require business with more than 100 employees to report the salaries of women and people of color.

But according to The Wall Street Journal, Trump officials say the the rule would be too burdensome for businesses and wouldn’t actually help gather intel on wage disparities. If you find that confusing, you may be even more confused by Ivanka Trump‘s stance on the move.

In the past, Ivanka has said that she supports wage equality for women, a claim that is belied by her latest statement.

https://twitter.com/IvankaTrump/status/849222875869577217

“Ultimately, while I believe the intention was good and agree that pay transparency is important, the proposed policy would not yield the intended results,” she said in a statement to The Wall Street Journal. “We look forward to continuing to work with EEOC, OMB, Congress and all relevant stakeholders on robust policies aimed at eliminating the gender wage gap.”

It’s interesting that Ivanka alludes only to gender, and not all the other wage gaps that are incredibly problematic for minority populations in the US. Still, we’d take what we can get from Ivanka in terms of advocacy for women—but it seems that even women aren’t enough of a priority for her to publicly dissent from the Trump administration’s policy decisions.

Jaime King Opens Up About Nearly Losing Her Kids to Miscarriages

Today, Jaime King is a parent to two beautiful sons, 2-year-old Leo and 3-year-old James, but her journey to becoming a mom wasn’t easy. In a recent essay for Galore, the 38-year-old actress opened up about her battle with a slew of issues related to childbirth, including multiple miscarriages, fertility struggles, and postpartum depression.

King’s fertility challenges began years ago when she was diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome, two disorders that negatively impact a woman’s ability to become pregnant. King took the news heavily, in no small part because of the expectations our culture places on women to have children.

“I thought that because my womb didn’t work the way I was taught it should work, I was broken,” King wrote. “We are told as women that our great value is to be able to carry life, to carry a child. If we’re fertile and abundant, we’re a worthy goddess. But for some reason, those parts don’t function for some of us.”

In an effort to become a mom, King revealed that she suffered “countless miscarriages” and almost lost her children to faulty pregnancies, something she initially felt shame about until realizing that fertility issues are nothing to be ashamed for.

“When I was told I couldn’t carry a child, it crushed me in a way that was so much deeper than I could explain,” King said. “I felt ashamed that I was suffering every day. I would wake up in pools of blood, and feel ashamed. And then I said, fuck this. I’m not going to be ashamed.”

Things didn’t get easier when King had her first child. Because of her trying journey to become a mom, the “Hart of Dixie” actress felt “unlovable” and suffered from severe postpartum depression.

“I had severe postpartum depression. I isolated myself. I was anxious all the time, I felt like I was unlovable,” King said. “I couldn’t even think straight. I had to live through an entire pregnancy where I didn’t know if my child was going to live or die. I couldn’t even process the trauma because I was too busy trying to keep him and myself alive.”

And while King has come a long way from first learning of her fertility issues, she admits that expectations of motherhood, especially for parents in the public eye, is a constant struggle.

“The judgment of yourself as a mother is consistent. So I’m really trying to find my identity of who I am as a mom,” she wrote. “Vulnerability is our greatest strength. When you’re able to really speak and share from the heart, that’s when you truly connect with other people, which heals everything.”

Here’s What You Probably Shouldn’t Wear After Labor Day

Look, we’re so not here for antiquated fashion rules. We are down to wear white after Labor Day, a black belt with brown shoes and mix patterns all day long. We do what we want.

However, there are a few particular things that should be packed away once summer ends, not because any hard-and-fast rules exist, but rather because they simply are so seasonal, that they’ll look out of place come fall. Most of these items are fabric related—lighter textiles such as airy white cotton, linen, canvas, and seersucker probably won’t be of use to you during the autumn months.

Below, here are 7 things you probably want to think about packing away once labor day weekends comes to a close. The good news? You still have five days to work ’em into your outfits!

Eyelet

Perhaps the most summery fabric of all, delicate eyelet is made from super lightweight cotton that’s just not made for fall.

If you love the look of delicate eyelet, try: Mesh pieces as the weather gets cooler—it’s thicker and more seasonal.

A big floppy straw hat

Nothing says summer more than a glamorous oversize straw hat—which is why they should be packed away after Labor Day.

If you love the look of a big straw beach hat, try: A felt or wool version for fall. You can quite literally replicate the hat’s drama, just in a more seasonally-appropriate fabric.

Flower crowns

Flower crowns, flower headbands, or fresh flowers in your hair reads way too summery for fall. Proof: would you wear a flower crown with sweaters and jackets? Probably not, right?

If you love the look of flower crowns, try: Another killer hair accessory, like a knotted headscarf, a turban, or a headchain.

Floral Short-Shorts

Floral short-shorts doesn’t really translate past the summer months. Why? Because they’ll look strange paired with any fall staples like ankle boots, sweaters, or leather jackets, or tights.

If you love the look of floral shorts, try: Distressed denim shorts in basic blue. These still work in the fall when paired with all of the above.

Light linen

Linen is another fabric that—like eyelet—should be packed away once summer ends, thanks to its light weight, easy-to-wrinkle makeup, and overall breezy appearance.

If you like the look and feel of linen, try: Fall-appropriate chambray instead.

Seersucker

Another quintessentially summer fabric, seersucker should be reserved for beach weekends, barbecues, and boat trips.

If you love the look of seersucker, try: Breton striped shirts. They’ve got a similar nautical vibe, but can be worn all fall and winter.

Strapless maxi dresses

Nothing says summer like a loose, printed floor-grazing maxi dress in a super-lightweight fabric, especially strapless varieties.

If you love the look of loose maxi dresses, try: A long-sleeve version. They still have the breezy boho factor, but look incredibly chic and seasonal when paired with anything from pumps to boots.

What Shoes to Wear With Skinny Jeans: 20 Inspiring Outfit Ideas

We kinda have a love/hate relationship with skinny jeans going. They’ve become a closet staple because they look amazing, but they’ve also become the bane of our existence because a lot of the time it’s hard to know exactly what to wear with them—especially when it comes to shoes. When we wear skinnies, our shoes are going to be on full display so the pressure is on to pick a pair that is perfect.  But the awesome thing about this situation? From sneakers to skinny jeans with heels, the sleek style of tapered denim leaves us tons of options.

But let’s also not forget that shoes can completely change the entire ambiance of an outfit. A pair of slinky, strappy sandals or a set of chunky moto boots change the entire look and feel of an ensemble.

The 30 Most Iconic Hairstyles of All Time

Over the past several decades, there have been plenty of trends when it comes to hair: Bobs, lobs, bangs, perms, poufs, layers, shags, and mullets, to name a few. But to qualify as “iconic,” one must possess something so fantastic it stands the test of time–or at least, that’s our definition. Take, for instance, Jane Birkin’s fringe, Stevie Nicks’s cascading blonde waves, or Grace Jones’s box-cut. It’s been eons and we’re all still referencing and attempting to replicate the art that is/was their hair. See? Iconic.
