6 Men’s Fashion Trends That Will Rule The Rest Of 2020

Though this may come as breaking news to many folks, menswear trends are pervasive in all areas of fashion—including women’s. Seriously cool looks inspired by menswear are everywhere on Instagram, in street style, fast fashion brands and even runways, so whether you identify as a man, non-binary, woman or gender-fluid, the men’s fall 2020 fashion trends are for you. From vintage-inspired ensembles to bold and bright hues, these fall 2020 trends are—and I can’t emphasize this enough—for everyone. Come autumn, each and every one of us will be sporting these fall looks, so we might as well get ourselves prepared (and do a little bit of shopping, too).

Luckily, there are some stand out trends to which we should all pay attention. We’ve highlighted some of our favorites, but make sure to keep your eyes peeled for emerging trends from your favorite brands. You never know what might pop up when you least expect it! For now, though, we’re relying on the runways to tell us what’s up. Kenzo, Boss, Balenciaga—They all brought their A-game to the Fall/Winter 2020 shows, and gave us a peak into what fashion trends we can all expect during the latter half of the year.

Maybe a sweater vest is the Prada-approved layering piece you’ve been looking for, or you’re ready to try out the ’70s vibes spotted at Dries Van Noten. 2020 is definitely a something-for-everyone kind of year when it comes to fashion, and creating looks that allow you to express yourself is key. From comfy puffers to bold monochrome pink looks, there’s a lot to love on the Fall/Winter 2020 runways, so take a peek at the best below.

1. Fans Of Fuchsia

ReAl MeN wEaR pInK, and Kenzo, Berluti, and Boss made sure everyone knows it! That said, they passed on soft millennial pink and upped the ante with a fiery fuchsia. Dear diary, please help me find a suit in this exact shade for myself. I truly feel like I deserve one.

If you’re into the fuchsia suit lewk, you can opt for this perfect-for-fall ASOS blazer. Paired with black jeans or matching fuchsia trousers, you can’t go wrong.

For those who’d rather rock the trendy color in a different way, though, there’s always this shimmery and sheer jumpsuit option.

2. That ‘70s (Fashion) Show

This season’s Dries Van Noten show had me feeling a ‘70s fantasy, to the point where I was half-convinced Red Forman from That ‘70s Show would magically appear and stomp down the runway. A ‘70s color palette paired with faux furs, heeled boots, and flared pants is a perfect fall outfit recipe.

The colors of the 1970s are so specific, and this burnt orange hue has vintage vibes written all over it. Add some faux fur or colorful pant to really lean into the trend.

Nothing says ’70s quite like a pair of flared pants! Get your groove on this fall with this fun striped pair of flares from Free People.

3. Head-to-Toe Prints

Plain black suits? As if. Designers went for playful prints and patterns this year, and Louis Vuitton’s cloudscape was without a doubt the standout. That said, designers like Dries Van Noten, Dsquared2, GmbH played with colorful acid-wash prints, so any loud patterns are acceptable.

This floral suit is such a fun and easy way to test out the head-to-toe pattern trend this fall. You can easily wear it with a tee when it’s still warm or switch to a turtleneck when the temps drop.

Not a fan of the skinny suit? No problem. ASOS has us all covered with this oversized suit in the coolest colorful floral print.

4. Puff It Up

Finally, men’s fashion has begun to embrace the puffer life! Models at Balenciaga, Off-White, and Fendi shows kept it cozy with oversized puffer jackets. While the silhouette lends itself to athleisure and street style looks especially, I’m definitely not mad at a puffer paired with a more formal look.

Buy: Puffer Coat $89.99

One of the most gorgeous colors that fall offers is mustard yellow, and thankfully GUESS understands that. Pair this yellow puffer jacket with an all-black ensemble to make it an autumnal statement piece.

Of course, you can never go wrong with a classic black puffer jacket in an oversized silhouette. Catch me cozying up in this as soon as the temperatures drop.

5. Autumn Whites

Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Ami all made a case for monochrome neutral looks, but Craig Green’s all-white-everything take was my personal fave. Autumn Whites are the new Winter Whites, and I’m here for it!

Cozy up in this white Fila sweater all season long. You can easily pair it with white pants—or use it as a neutral piece when you don some patterned bottoms this fall.

Buy: Mixed Rib Crew Sweater $146

If you want something in a different fit, try this white Vince sweater. It’s just loose enough to make it perfect for layering over autumnal button downs.

6. In-Vested

Hi, please allow me to make clear how inVESTed I am in the looks that went down the runway at Prada’s menswear show. Sweater vests are the 2020 trend I didn’t see coming, but I’m all about a layering moment. While a vest looks great over a long-sleeved shirt, I’m a big fan of how models at Prada showed some skin with sleeveless styling. Power moves only, people.

This sweater vest is low-key an all-season winner—but works especially well in the fall. Ditch the shirt underneath while it’s still warm, then layer up later in the season.

Or, you can always go for an upscale oversized sweater vest turned mini dress look this fall. Worn over a white button down—or patterned turtleneck, if you want to get maximalist this season—you can’t miss.
