I don’t think I will ever get tired of buying jeans. Yes, searching for a pair that actually fits me perfectly can sometimes be challenging, but I feel downright euphoric whenever I find The Perfect Pair. If you’re a denim-lover like me, you’re going to flip out over these 2021 jean trends. And if you’re even half the shopaholic that I am, you’ll want to buy a few new pairs right now.
While I’m definitely not advocating for a mass clean-out from your denim drawer, I am a fan of adding at least one new and trendy style to your rotation for the second half of 2021. The mid-year sartorial slump is like, really real this year and I’m not totally sure why. Honestly, it’s probably because I haven’t had many reasons to get fully dressed up in what feels like forever. But, all of that is changing right now and I think that bringing a new pair of trendy jeans into my life will totally revitalize my style. Here’s hoping!
So, I scoured the internet to get you the scoop on all things denim for the upcoming year. Hint: They’re anything but boring. For instance, brands like The Ragged Priest and DL1961 prove just how popular the low-rise denim trend has been over the last few months. Yes, you read that correctly—Low-rise jeans are cool again.
Whether you’re a hardcore denim fan who wears jeans with every outfit or just someone who just want to look like they stepped right out of my Instagram explore page, I am here to help. Read on to shop 10 of my all-time favorite pairs.

Shawty Get Loose
When it comes to 2021 denim trends, there’s only one real rule for you to follow: the baggier the jean, the better. Whoever said that jeans couldn’t be comfortable has never tried a pair like these. Seriously—They basically feel like sweats.
Split Knee Wide Leg Jogger Jeans
These slouchy black distressed jeans from PrettyLittleThing are going to replace your skinnies like, right now. Style them with an equally oversized t-shirt or hoodie for a relaxed, cool-girl look.
‘90s Baggy Fit Jeans
The ’90s are back! I mean, at least, their denim is, anyway. This pair of light-wash jeans from Bershka are super affordable so they’re worth buying if you want to give the baggy jeans trend a spin without committing too many of your hard-earned dollars to the cause.
Drop it Low
Speaking of ’90s-era jeans, I’m here to tell you that low-rise denim is officially back in a big way in 2021. It looks like my mom was right when she said that trends do repeat themselves every 20 years! Does anyone know where my old jeans would be?
Release Wide Leg Jean
The Ragged Priest designs some of the coolest pairs of jeans on the internet, no questions asked. Case in point? This particular pair of low-rise baggy jeans retails for under $100. On-trend jeans that I can actually afford? Sign me up!
Emma Skinny Low Rise Jean
If you absolutely must wear skinny jeans in 2021, you need to make sure they have a low-rise (and are from a brand as cool and as sustainable as DL1961.) Otherwise, why bother with them at all right now?
Pattern Play
The second half of 2021 is a great time to completely reinvent your style with some new patterned jeans, don’t you think? There are so many hues to choose from, but I would pick a pair in a shade of blue. Blue jeans but make them fashion!
Cynthia Toile High Rise Straight Jeans
These blue and white jeans from Reformation are reminding me that fashion is, in fact, supposed to be fun. You have enough plain old dark-wash jeans hanging in your closet and you definitely don’t need another pair that’s full of holes.
The Slim Boyfriend Jeans
Not a fan of colorful jeans? Why not give an embroidered pair a spin this season? This particular option from Pilcro is available in both straight and extended sizing and comes in a few different inseam lengths. Yes, these are perfect.
Have A Flared Experience
We’ve already discussed that retro-inspired denim is popular again in 2021—and the ’70s are no exception! Flared jeans are everywhere right now. They’re available in a ton of colors, washes and patterns so you can take your pick!
Mia High Rise Flair Jean
Warp+Weft is known across the internet for its range of inclusive and on-trend denim styles. This light-wash pick doesn’t have a massive flare at the bottom so they’re a great option if wearing wide-leg jeans was one of your new year’s resolutions.
Just Float On Flare Jeans
Everyone could use a good old pair of dark-wash jeans in their closet, right? This flared version from We the Free will look amazing styled with a chunky pair of platform sandals and a corsetted cropped top.
She Was a Sk8r Girl
Skaters have long been a source of style inspiration to me, especially when it comes to their denim preferences. I mean, they always look so cool in their slightly distressed duds. Get the look without the skills this season in one of these jeans.
High Rise Loose Jeans
Buying a pair of jeans from cult-favorite denim brand Re/DONE will cost you some serious coin—but the splurge is always worth it. I mean, why else would they have an army of celebrity street-style endorsements? This pair of High Rise Loose Jeans is essential in my wardrobe.
Wide Leg Full Length Ripped Jeans
Ah, Zara. How did it take me this long to talk about their denim range? Not only is it super affordable but they always have all the coolest styles in stock. Case in point: this high-rise light wash ripped pair that I love so very much.
